Finnish EU-Skeptic Party Could Stop EU Boosting Bailout Funds HELSINKI (Dow Jones)--The True Finns' rise to second place in opinion polls just four weeks ahead of Finnish parliamentary elections could pose a threat to the European Union's efforts to resolve its fiscal crisis.
Any changes to the euro zone's bailout facility to debt-ridden member countries require unanimity, but the euro-skeptic True Finns vow to veto any increase in the Nordic EU member country's contribution to both the temporary European Financial Stability Facility, or EFSF, and the permanent European Stability Mechanism, or ESM.
"Both the prime minister and the minister of finance are in a very difficult situation," said Pekka Ylä-Anttila.
